The Orb network grows to over 1 Pbps of total edge capacity!
Following collaboration with Fastly, a leading global edge cloud network delivering digital experiences, we are announcing experimental support to test internet responsiveness, reliability, and speed on Fastly infrastructure. Fastly powers large, innovative companies such as GitHub, Reddit, Stripe, and SpaceX. Support for Fastly strengthens Orb’s leading position for testing real-world internet experience, rather than best-case experience to ISP-managed infrastructure.
With the addition of access to Fastly’s network, Orb now utilizes a combined 400+ PoPs in 125+ countries, providing an unmatched platform for measuring the experiences that impact our everyday internet activities. Fastly’s 532 Tbps of global capacity brings the total Orb network to over one petabit per second of global edge capacity! Fastly alone serves 1.8 trillion daily requests.
Before making our Fastly integration a default part of the Orb application and sensor experience, we would greatly appreciate the support of our community in testing these capabilities. Fastly support is already available in Orb for Responsiveness measurements.
