Introducing The Forge
Discover what's new & coming to Orb
It’s been just one month since Orb first launched on April 30th. Since then, hundreds of thousands of Orbs have been activated in over 190 countries globally, and we’ve been featured or reviewed by dozens of media outlets. The response has greatly exceeded our expectations, and we've been humbled by the adoption so far.
But we’re just getting started. We have been focused on bug fixes and small improvements, thanks to great suggestions and bug reports from the community, but we have big plans for the next few months. This includes popular requests like a cloud portal, big improvements to the Orb app, expanded device support, and an enterprise service for large Orb deployments. We couldn't be more excited to share what we've been working on, what's coming next, and provide early access to the new capabilities.
Introducing The Forge: What's new & coming to Orb
To provide clarity on what we're working on, we’ve created a new section of orb.net affectionately called The Forge. The name is a play on our company name, Orb Forge, and is intended to indicate it's where we are hard at work on what’s next for Orb.
The Forge is all about providing transparency on what the Orb team has been working on and what's coming next. We believe the best companies actively listen to what their users want and are transparent about what's coming. The Forge includes four sections:
🪵 Orb Changelog
Get full details on all our releases, from the Orb apps for Windows, Mac, Android, or iOS to the Orb CLI. This is also where we’ll share significant updates to our upcoming Orb Cloud portal, alpha available now in early release.
When we've fixed a bug or finished a feature request from our GitHub Issues, we'll link to the issue for those who want the nitty-gritty details.
🔮 Coming Soon to Orb
Curious about what we are working on and what’s coming next to Orb? Our Coming Soon page highlights feature and development priorities. And we'll be regularly updating it with new features as existing features ship. We're excited about what's coming soon, and even more excited about even bigger features that will be coming in late Summer — stay tuned to Coming Soon.

And if you've figured out how to run Orb on a new platform, we welcome contributions to our documentation.
We're just getting started
